McGregor Garrow Architecture
I studied architecture at the Scott Sutherland School of Architecture in Aberdeen from 1997, where I achieved a BSc Hons and Masters degree in architecture. I completed the Part 3 Professional Examination in 2010, and registered as an architect with the Architects Registration Board (ARB). I am also a member of the Royal Incorporation of Architects in Scotland (RIAS).
I have worked in architectural practice since 2003, when I began working at Lyon & McPherson Architects as an Architectural Assistant. In 2009, ownership of the practice was transferred, and Ian Rodger Architects was set up in a new office. I was made Associate in recognition of the role I played in setting up and developing the practice. During my time at the practices, I was responsible for projects starting with mainly house extensions, and latterly I focused on terminal extensions and hangars for helicopter operators. In 2013, I set up McGregor Garrow Architecture Limited – an RIAS Chartered Practice. From 2014 to 2015, I also provided architectural services as a consultant for Unispace – a global workplace design company – working on large office fit-outs and workshop refurbishment projects in Aberdeen and London. Since then, I have mainly worked on house extensions, new-build houses, office refurbishments, coffee shops, and pharmacies. During my career to date, I have been responsible for over 350 architectural projects.
